The Car In The Scrap Heap

The father is so proud to show his new joy

A car shining so bright it glows

Everyone wants to see it go for a while

After a while the excitement seems to go

He still drives around with so much car

But after a while without a thought

He has to replace it for another

The car carries on as before

But not as slow at all

Travels to France once in a while

The clock of the motor keeps going around

The miles it has done reduces the shine

But once again it has to go

The new owner is so young

He has not passed his test at all

The father tries to be calm

When he crunches the gears so hard

The pain the car shows when he scrapes the curb

But the joy they all showed when he passed his test

Then he rushes around as if no tomorrow

But one sad day in January I think

He hit another car so hard

The pain as the front end crunches in

They repaired and replaced bits of the car

It carries on as before but it’s not the same

A student so poor buys the car this time

Runs the car as if it is still very young

The engine is getting old and starts to complain

One day it gives in and there seems no hope

Though it’s repaired it is still very sad

When the MOT comes they say no more

That’s how the car finished up in the yard so sad
