So you want to contribute?

In response to, what is most often referred to as, “popular demand” we are going public with our contributors guidelines, in the hopes of both explaining and enticing.

Contributors Guidelines

We are always looking for talented, inspiring and motivated contributors.

We are enthused by sharp-eyed perspectives, brimming with personal insight and wit, whether that is the written word or imagery. We are interested in features that vary in format: interviews, reported pieces, and critical essays are welcome, as are roundups, cultural commentary and humour. We also include graphically driven formats like timelines and comics. Sound and moving things could make it happen for us too.

If you have an idea, feature or completed work in most media, that you would like us to consider for publication, or you would like to be involved in reviewing or sub-editing team, please get in touch.

Beat is a magazine dedicated to showcasing and feeding into the cultural life of Windsor and the surrounding region. Beat provides a platform for the artists, writers, photographers, musicians, filmmakers, and so on, living and working in the area. Our contributors guidelines are encased in that mission statement.

If you can show us a sample of your work, published or otherwise, we will always consider you.

HOW TO WORK WITH US

You should contact us by email, editor@beatmagazine.co.uk, with an outline of what you propose, or attach the completed work or image, writing should be submitted on Word. We may require a self-portrait from you.

We aim to respond within two weeks, but our focus is always on the impending edition and so we cannot always guarantee to meet this target.

This is initially unpaid, but you will be part of what, in our opinion, is the most interesting, relevant and creative hub in the area, we will provide great exposure and we always link with you.
