I have strong feelings about quality in comics. I think quality has declined since the “Golden Age”
Then I ask myself, “What are they all up to?” Eventually I find out, and then I write the caption. This is called “Back in 5″.
I help people celebrate their lives. It’s the best part of my work.
The lighting here is different, it’s balanced and almost reads my thoughts. “I would love a light to go here” ….. it happens like magic.
I think you should be honest with what you’re painting. But I never know if what I’m doing is simply ludicrous.
What’s so great about contemporary art? It’s part of life in the here and now. It’s the work of living artists whose styles are evolving all the time.
I chose a large slab of Purbeck Spangle, a crystalline limestone full of oyster shell fossils that was formed during the Jurassic Period 150 million years ago.
Howard Tangye’s art was hot. So hot, in fact, that it sparked bidding wars.
They think I can see into them by looking at their pictures, and they’re afraid…
I like the idea, the feeling of watching or being watched.
